But First, Coffee!

19 April 2021 Written by Published in blog

If you’re like us, you love coffee! We love coffee in the morning, during that later afternoon lag, and even at night after a fantastic meal. Fortunately, The Sea View Inn at the Beach sits close to many of the South Bay’s finest coffee shops. Many of these amazing places are even within walking distance of the hotel. The Coffee houses not to be missed are

Two Guns Espresso – less than a 2-minute walk from the hotel

Peets Coffee – Peet’s is just a few blocks to the south in Downtown Manhattan Beach

Smokey Hollow – It’s a drive, but it’s a short one and well worth it - 118 Sierra St in El Segundo

The Green Store – Hop on a bike and ride to 2151 Hermosa Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

Don’t forget, The Sea View Inn offers incredible bikes to all our guests at no charge!

Neighborhoods

Only an hour to the north of The Sea View Inn you’ll find the iconic Malibu Beach. We obviously love the beaches and vibe of Manhattan Beach more than what you’ll find in Malibu, but a drive down PCH to our sister beach in the north is pretty special.  For those of you that make the trip here are our top 5 favorites in Malibu!

  1. John’s Garden – This one-of-a-kind sandwich shop is the perfect post-surf destination to grab a bite and do a little people-watching.
  2. Zuma Beach – We prefer this spot over Malibu Beach, especially for families. More parking, fewer rocks, and wonderful waves.
  3. Malibu Farm – If seeing the Malibu Pier is important to you make a reservation at the Malibu Farm! It’s on the pier and the food is outstanding.
  4. Pointe Dume Natural Preserve – This amazing hike enables you to burn a few calories and take in great views.
  5. Nobu Malibu – Before you head back to the MB swing in for a drink at Nobu. You’re certain to see celebrities and a breathtaking ocean view.

Los Angeles is slowly, but surely, opening up again - outdoor dining and unique events popping up all across the city. The Sea View Inn, Manhattan Beach is in perfect proximity to countless activities that are safe and enjoyable for everyone. First off there is a rooftop film festival setting up shop at the Manhattan Village Mall parking structure, which is the first-ever drive-in independent film festival. Along with this is the various new restaurants and shops opening up in the Mall after massive renovations have taken place for most of 2020. Some of the new restaurants include Handel's Homemade Ice Cream and Silverlake Ramen - both Angelino fan favorites. Finally, an upscale pop-up market with unique vendors is also taking place at the Village Mall on February the 6th, perfect for a casual stroll through some of the most unique and classic LA shopping opportunities. All of these events, and more, are taking place within five minutes of the Inn! You will love the South Bay and all that Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, and Redondo Beach have to offer.

When you think of Los Angeles wide open spaces don’t always come to mind.  The good news is the South Bay is unique. We’re only a few miles from LA but that distance makes a big difference.

The Sea View Inn is steps from a deep beach next to a gorgeous stretch of the Pacific Ocean. This beach is a perfect place go for a socially distanced walk or run. If hiking is more your thing look no further than Palos Verdes. Palos Verdes, known as PV, has incredible trails and hikes that are easily accessible to our guests. Lastly, if you want to really get out on the water and see some sea life consider visiting the Redondo Beach Harbor and renting a Stand-up Paddleboard. These boards provide you with an opportunity to get up close to dolphins, sea lions and seals.

Our Neighbor, Beverly Hills

In our last post, we talked about our neighbor to the North, Marina Del Rey.  Our next stop is our glamourous friend to the East, Beverly Hills! Beverly Hills is home to great restaurants, incredible homes, but most of all it offers incredible high-end shopping. If you’re looking for a little retail therapy Beverly Hills has you covered. It’s a 20 – 30min drive from Manhattan Beach and once you arrive you can cruise Rodeo Dr, Canon Dr, Robertson, and Little Rodeo drive. Here you will find great boutiques from CHANEL, Sak’s, Blue Violet, and Tag Heuer.  Enjoy and shop until your heart’s content.
