As the warm temperatures approach us, jackets are replaced with t-shirts and fun moves to the outdoors swiftly. With scenic views and nature all around Manhattan Beach, there are many opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. Look no further than below for a few ideas to get you started!
3 Manhattan Beach Spots To Enjoy Outdoor Activities
Run along the Veterans Parkway jogging trail
Nestled among green trees and lush landscape, this 21 acre park is perfect for picnics, book reading and dog walking (it's the only Manhattan Beach park that allows leashed dogs!) and if you're a runner, you'll enjoy the mile and half jogging trail between 10th and 11th street. There are also four workout stations, drinking fountains and benches located throughout the park.
Play a variety of sports at Marine Avenue Park
Stroll through picnic'ing families and children playing as you head to one of the many recreation sites at Marine Avenue Park. There is a four-court indoor racquetball building operated by Pay-N-Play and open to the public, a skate park, full-size baseball and soccer fields, two basketball courts and play areas for the children. Bring a picnic and your sporting equipment and head to Marine Ave. Park to enjoy the sunshine. Check out their website for more information.
Visit the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden
Focusing on plants native to CA and specifically drought regions, this botanical garden is run by volunteers and open to the public. Signs are set up for self-guided tours, making it a great recreational activity for ages twelve and up. It's also perfect for birdwatching - at least 153 different species of birds have been spotted there! So get those binoculars out and check out the flower and wildlife growing all around.
And for all those visiting, check out lodging at the Sea View Inn, a modern intimate seaside hotel located right in Manhattan Beach!
