Beautiful Manhattan Beach is famed for its miles of pristine coastline and The Strand - a path of walkers, cyclists, and joggers all enjoying the stunning scenery and fresh ocean air. While the town has become synonymous with surfing, beach volleyball, and sunbathing, what may come as a surprise is the fact that it has also become one of the top foodie destinations in Los Angeles. While it's hard to narrow down the list from the many excellent options available, we've selected a few local favorites:
Manhattan Beach Post
Located in an old post office (hence the name!), Manhattan Beach Post is a crowd-pleasing option for groups looking to sample a variety of outstanding small plates. The large communal tables encourage sharing and the lively bar helps to keep spirits high. The menu is seasonal, although favorite staples include the roasted Brussel sprouts and the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits with honey butter – not to be missed!
The Strand House
Looking for that quintessential California beach sunset view? Then check out The Strand House adjacent to the Manhattan Beach Pier! Apart from the panoramic ocean views, the restaurant offers excellent locally sourced dishes with premier (but not stuffy) service. Once you're full after a meal of Coastal California Cuisine, head downstairs where beach evenings come alive with a DJ, friendly bar, and plenty of dancing.
Tin Roof Bistro
Conveniently located at the Manhattan Village mall (shopping, anyone?), Tin Roof Bistro is perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. The space is large, interesting (a tin roof definitely changes a room's acoustics), and filled with couples and families alike. The service is friendly, food is imaginative, and prices are reasonable. Do you have a larger group? The separate wine cellar in the back makes the perfect venue for private meals and events of most sizes.
The best part? The Sea View Inn is close to all of these outstanding dining options – and others! Contact us to find out more.
