The City of Angels is well-known for her incredible beaches, famous stars and general fun in the sun and although that's already more than enough reason to make a trip to Southern California, Los Angeles still has yet more to offer; there's a little something for everyone. As soon as you've booked your hotel on the beach and finished packing your swimwear, you can check out this list for some great ideas about what to pencil into the itinerary while you're there!

1. The Automobile Driving Museum

Fun for the whole family and car enthusiasts alike awaits in El Segundo. Reasonably priced and conveniently accessible via the Metro, there's every reason to stop in to experience the automobile-themed exhibits and kids events offered every Tuesday-Sunday. The museum has over 130 cars on display! From antique to classic American muscle, they've got it all.

2. Sand Dune Park

Named, of course, for the massive sand dune located there, Sand Dune Park is a popular destination for families and nature lovers. This unique trail offers visitors a glimpse of the beauty of Southern Californian plant and wildlife; the dune is said to host over a hundred bird species throughout the year. The park includes a play area and scenic picnic spots as well!

3. The Manhattan Beach Art Center

If you're interested in art, the Manhattan Beach Art Center features pieces from both renowned artists from around the world as well as displaying work from talented local artists. The Center also offers classes and programs promoting art education.

4. The Beach Boys Landmark

Music fans, especially fans of the legendary Beach Boys, may want to take the time to visit Hawthorne, CA. Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson's hometown erected a landmark where their former home once stood. It was there that in 1961, the boys recorded their first song, Surfin'. Several locations around town frequented by the Beach Boys can also be visited.

5. Studio Antiques

If vintage goods and antiques are more your style, consider heading back to El Segundo for Studio Antiques. You may have spotted the owners of the shop before on the A&E show, Storage Wars. They have a variety of items to suit any collector's needs.

6. Old Town Music Hall

While you're exploring El Segundo, you can check out another cultural landmark. The Old Town Music Hall has been showing vintage films and hosting live concerts featuring popular music of the past since 1968. So, if you're itching to experience a silent film or listen to some classic jazz music, this is the place for you!

7. Manhattan Beach Creamery

If sugary confections and sweet treats are your thing, look no further than the Manhattan Beach Creamery. They don't just cover ice cream; desserts of all kinds make their home in this culinary wonderland. From macaroons to chocolate dipped bananas, they've got what it takes to satisfy your sweet tooth!
