Are you finding yourself in California during the Holiday season? Maybe even Manhattan Beach? No? Well you should. Manhattan Beach is the perfect, picturesque city to celebrate your Holidays in. Holidays away from home and family can be difficult, but Manhattan Beach provides three amazing events which are guaranteed to make your Holidays bright.

Gingerbread Houses

On the 11th of December, the Manhattan Beach Art Center is offering a gingerbread house workshop. There you can frost and decorate your own gingerbread house and cookies. While there is a minimum age of 2 for the event, there is no maximum, so even the young at heart can attend! If you wish to attend, there is a fee to join the Holiday fun ($94 for non-residents), but it is worth it when you have a sweet treat to enjoy afterwards. The Art Center is offering two workshops on the 11th, one at 11am and one at 3pm, so you don't have to worry about spaces filling up.

Snowman Origami

For those vacationers with small children (ages 5 and up), the Manhattan Beach Art Center is also offering snowman origami on the 17th of December. It is a fun, educational workshop which allows families to celebrate the Holidays, while experimenting and creating together. While this event is free of charge, there is an early registration required for those who wish to attend. Find more details and contact information here if you wish to put your name on the list.

Fireworks Galore!

The pride and joy of Manhattan Beach is their Manhattan Beach Holiday Firework Festival that is celebrated every year at the Pier. This year they will be celebrating their 28th annual festival on December 11th. The roads will close at 2pm in preparation, and the whole festival will begin at 4pm. The festival isn't just fireworks - Manhattan Beach goes all out for this event. Besides the amazing fireworks (which start at 7pm) the festival also consists of music from local bands, a family Christmas sing-along, and even a Santa float! The festival will continue rain or shine, and festival officials advise you to bring blankets/beach chairs, and picnic dinners so you can take in the spectacular show in style. The Festival was voted "The Best Holiday Fireworks Show in the Nation" on Travel Channel's 2013 Jingle Brawls, and it is truly an event that cannot be missed.
