The Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair! The Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair!

Hometown Fair won "Best of Manhattan" Award  in 2015 by the MB Chamber of Commerce!

The spirit of our community shines brightly every year at the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, and the tradition will continue this year on October 1-2, 2016. This fun-filled two-day event features artists, music, games and food and is perfect for people of all ages.

Since 1972, the Hometown Fair has embraced and celebrated the spirit of community that exists in Manhattan Beach. The fair kicks off with its original tradition of an opening parade at 10 AM on October 1, then it's on to all the fun activities.

The Joslyn Center will host artisans who either display their creations or excel in performance art. From professional artists to the art of students, you'll be able to discover the unique works of these talented people, some of whom live locally while others bring their creations in from all over the country.

The fairgrounds are filled with music from a variety of tribute and cover bands appearing on the South Stage, and on Saturday morning, the long-standing tradition of the Battle of the Bands takes place on the Main Stage. Dancing, singing along, and general merriment are encouraged!

Families will love going to Kid Country, where there are pony, camel and elephant rides, animal shows and a petting zoo. Kids can have tons of fun playing in bounce houses, watching balloon artist magicians and enjoying the thrill of wild animal shows.

Everyone has fun with free games like the Diaper Derby and Toddler Trot; there are also lots of other exciting games to participate in including a toy treasure hunt, water balloon toss, three-legged race, egg toss and much more. Roaming clowns and a magician keep all ages amused throughout the day.

There's no shortage of food at the fair - whether your pleasure is hot dogs, teriyaki bowls, hamburgers, pizza, pulled pork or a number of other hot choices, there's lots of fare to choose from. Fun drinks, sweets and marvelous munchies are available throughout the weekend. The fair also has a Beer Garden and a Wine Garden, where you can relax and unwind while you savor one of your favorites or discover something new. All proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations.
