The Los Angeles South Bay is perhaps one of the best kept secrets in Southern California. Situated close to the airport and roughly halfway between Orange County and the metropolitan Los Angeles area, it provides easy access to everything that the area has to offer including a stay at the beautiful Seaview Inn in Manhattan Beach.
But the beauty of the South Bay "bubble," as locals call it, is that many activities are mere steps away. Want to sample some of the best that each of the South Bay's three beach cities have to offer? It's easy (and FUN!) to do in a day.
Planning a trip to Manhattan Beach and wondering what to do while you're here?
Well, besides the obvious answers of staying at The Seaview Inn, soaking up the sun, and lounging on the beach, there's so much to do and see in this seaside town! With 2 miles of pristine, white, sandy beaches stretching from Hermosa Beach to El Segundo; a large pier jutting out into the calm Pacific Ocean; large dunes; beautiful botanical gardens; spectacular food and shopping and a burgeoning night life scene, Manhattan Beach has something for everyone!
With over 280 sunny days out of 365, Los Angeles invites sunshine lovers to enjoy the outdoors all year - and not just at the beach! Whether you want to soak up some Vitamin D on a leisurely stroll or sweat under plentiful rays with a strenuous workout, these outdoor Manhattan Beach destinations are sure to brighten your day.
As the weather cools down it's tempting to stay inside with a good book and a comfy blanket. Don't let the winter blues steal your sunshine. Here are 4 Ways to Get Outside at Manhattan Beach.
Manhattan Beach is a destination in California where you can relax and enjoy a nice vacation. There are a wide variety of activities for you to participate in while staying at Manhattan Beach.
The Beach. Manhattan Beach is a great place to swim, surf, or go on a romantic walk with your significant other. Even if you do not particularly like the beach, you should still go to this one. Try to hit up a different section of the beach each day.
The Strand. The Strand is a place where you can enjoy biking, walking, or jogging. You can observe the expensive and architecturally interesting houses while engaging in your physical activity.
Manhattan Beach Pier. It is a small pier compared to that of Santa Monica's. However, it’s well-kept-up and has a small aquarium at the end of it. The southern side of the pier is sometimes used for pro beach volleyball games.
Manhattan Beach! I love running and biking along the boardwalk. The setting couldn't be more perfect, you get a panoramic view of the ocean, a wonderful cross breeze and a boardwalk that is flat. The bike path is separate from the running path so that there is less congestion on days when it's crowded (weekends). Also there are benches and water stops lining the strand so that if you don't have water with you, you can easily take a break, relax and enjoy the scenery and the beautiful ocean view and sunsets.
I would definitely recommend spending a casual sunny weekend afternoon along Manhattan Beach. Great local restaurants, coffee shops and yummy eateries to ride or run to.
Don't forget, the Sea View Inn has free bicycles for all our guests!
