Manhattan Beach is known for its great beaches and sunny weather, but rest assured that surfing isn't the only outdoor activity to do. From whale watching to hiking trails with amazing panoramic ocean views, here are some great outdoor activities to try when staying at The Sea View Inn in Manhattan Beach.

Veterans Parkway
This 21-acre park is a great place to spend an afternoon having a picnic. With beautiful views, breathtaking nature, and easy parking, Veterans Parkway is a great place to get some exercise done while traveling. The park features a 1.5-mile trail, making it a great place to jog. This trail can also be walked and leisurely enjoyed with the whole family.

Manhattan Beach to Redondo Beach Trail
This 4.5-mile trail starts in Manhattan Beach and ends in the neighboring city, Redondo Beach. It is a popular trail and for good reason: the trail is located right next to the beach and has a convenient paved path. Easily enjoy Manhattan Beach by taking in the sun and enjoying the beautiful beach as you walk this trail.

Whale Watching
Whale watching in Southern California is a year-round activity that can be enjoyed with the whole family. Many boat tours along the coastal beaches set off to go whale watching daily and very often see both whales and dolphins not far from Manhattan Beach. Some whale watching tours to check out close by to Manhattan Beach include the Redondo Beach Whale Watch and Nature Cruise and the Marina Del Rey Sportfishing & Whale Watching tours.

South Bay Bike Path
Another trail to check out is the South Bay Bike Path that starts in Manhattan Beach and ends in Playa Del Rey. This 9.3-mile out-and-back trail is bike friendly making it a great biking activity to do with the family while enjoying amazing beach views throughout. Don't have a bike? Rest assured, Manhattan Beach bike rental shops, such as Helen's Cycles, can set you and the whole family up with some bikes to take out and enjoy.

Rent a Boat
Want to enjoy the water but aren't in the mood for surfing? Try renting a boat. Renting a boat is a great afternoon activity that can be enjoyed with a large group of people or can be a romantic activity for a party of two. Check out Marina Sailing Redondo Beach or Marina del Rey Boat Rentals for more information on booking your boat.

Sand Dune Park
This park is a treasure trove in Manhattan Beach. It includes beautiful winding trails surrounded by nature, climbing equipment, a fenced small children's play area, and of course the dune. To use the sand dune portion of the park, reservations can be made through the Manhattan Beach city website.
