South Bay Film and Music Festival

If you have ever considered visiting Manhattan Beach, now is a wonderful time to stop by. One of the exciting things happening here is the South Bay Film and Music Festival Photography Exhibit and Film Screening, which takes place June 22-July 1. Most of the events take place at the Manhattan Beach Art Center, which is open Wednesday-Saturday 10 am-9 pm and 10 am-5 pm on Sunday. There are several events during this festival that you likely will not want to miss.

The Strand Manhattan Beach, also known as Marvin Braude Bike Path, is a paved bicycle path that starts at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades and continues 22 miles south to Torrance County Beach. There are a few places along the way where the trail becomes a road for a short while, but those are few and far between.

The Strand is frequently seen on television shows and in commercials and movies. Most of the path is for cycling only, but the section between Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach has a separate walking path as well.

Though the name has a somewhat dubious 80s sci-fi ring to it, don't be alarmed. Be amazed! The Adventure Plex is one of the biggest and most incredible family-friendly destinations in Manhattan Beach. 16,000 square feet big, in fact, and every inch crammed with something the kids will love. (Not to mention the adults). What sets it apart from the zillions of other "family fun centers" in the country, though, is its dedication to healthy lifestyle choices. It's not a pizza-filled arcade, but a facility to learn, grow, and be active in.
