Perhaps the best kept secret in hospitality in the entire LA area. My recent stay at the Sea View Inn was outstanding across the board. The property offers a wide array of different room types, and the hotel is comprised of a handful of different buildings, so definitely take some time to consider what you want from your stay. Many of the rooms offer oceanview balconies, and I would absolutely recommend going with this option; the sunsets are astounding.
The room was recently updated, and featured a great shower. The room was also quiet, and comfortable overall. The cleaning service did a great job each day, as well. The hotel offers free bike rentals, and I believe beach chairs, too. It was quite chilly during my stay so I did not use the pool, but in the past when I've stayed here during the summer it has been more than satisfactory. Pools are rare in this neighborhood of Manhattan Beach; it must be among the only ones in existence.
The hotel is within steps of a handful of great dining options, including Sloopy's, which is my favorite spot to grab breakfast in the area. There's also Moon's Market just across the street, and that offers an array of food and beverage options to keep the room stocked. The room did feature a mini-fridge, which was a very clutch amenity. I also greatly appreciated the fresh ground coffee that was stocked in it, as it was a breeze to prepare a cup on demand with the provided coffee maker. I probably saved myself about $30 worth of Starbucks during my stay on account of this.
I highly recommend this property (and Manhattan Beach in general) to anybody looking for a great, yet unpretentious SoCal beach experience at a very reasonable price. You can't beat Manhattan Beach, and you certainly cannot top this option if you want to stay right in the heart of things and be right at the beach
