If you enjoy good community theatre, there's a world of choices and venues in our area that offer everything from plays to magic to choral groups...and lots more. Here are just a few to get you started:

Manhattan Beach Community Church Music & Theater. From seasonal plays and a speaker series featuring guests from all walks of life to youth theater and choir music, the MBCC's active performing arts productions encompass a wide range of quality entertainment and interests for all ages. Such plays as Dracula and Mark Twain's Big River have been enjoyed by audiences at MBCC.

Kentwood Players. You can expect a high level of entertainment from the award-winning Kentwood Players, which has been voted Best Performance Space, Favorite Performing Arts Venue and landed in the top three for Best Theatre Venue or Company for the Westside, along with other recognitions. Kentwood Players, at the Westchester Playhouse in Los Angeles, has been around since 1950, and most of the shows they perform were successful Broadway hits. Upcoming productions include Neil Simon's The Gingerbread Lady, John August's Big Fish and Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid.

Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Considered the "crown jewel of the South Bay arts scene," RBPAC offers even more than its 1,453-seat theatre - it houses a granite waterfall, a contemporary Grand Lobby, and spacious program areas of over 40,000 square feet. Some of the performances you can expect to see at this magnificent venue include the amazing Los Angeles Ballet, 3D Theatricals performing Broadway-quality musical theater selections, and the Distinguished Speaker Series with presentations by a variety of notables from celebrities to dignitaries.

Hermosa Beach Community Theatre - 2nd Story Theatre. Just about any type of entertainment you can imagine is performed here, including the Sunscreen Film Festival West, comedy shows and improvs, magic shows by Hollywood's top magicians, plays, film premieres, and so much more. It's not to be missed, whether you're visiting or you're a local!
